Johnnie J. Refvik, CEO & Founding Member of SugarCube, contacted ATOM to develop a diabetes test kit and mobile app to help diabetics better manage their condition and improve their quality of life. As a Type 1 Diabetic, he was aware of multiple supplies required for testing blood glucose levels and administering insulin. He wanted a product that was more interactive and user friendly.
ATOM designed and engineered the SugarCube, a Bluetooth® enabled testing and insulin delivery device that allows users to track, store and analyze diet, exercise, glucose levels, insulin administered and more.
The device was launched on a crowd funding site last year and the mobile app is now available to download on both Apple and Android devices. The SugarCube meter has been submitted to the FDA and the company is awaiting approval.
